Genelle Labrie

episode 38.

On this weeks episode of the TXC Show, fashionista, Genelle Labrie, joins the fellas on set to talk about her newest endeavour – CutUpCotton!

CutUpCotton is a “0 waste” clothing brand, where Genelle creates every piece of her clothing from 100% salvaged materials.

She sources all of her clothing from local thrift stores, and cuts them into her own designs (cut up cotton). She is just getting this project off the ground, and we are extremely excited to see where this brand goes.

Genelle speaks on the reasoning as to Why she started her clothing line, and the intentions behind every piece that is made. We talk about her first ‘pop-up’ store, and the growth it takes to open a business – turning an idea into physical reality.

There are ramifications of creating clothing that does not last, and one of them being a burden on our planet in the form of unnecessary waste! Genelle has realized this, and decided to take a stand against ‘1 time use’ clothing.

(these are clothing brands that are not created in quality, but moreso quanitity based)

The conversation then steers towards Genelles passion for yoga/mind&body connection, which also happens to be an intricate piece to her clothing line!
